Who Is Rana Suryawanshi?
Rana Suryawanshi is the owner of Rana Shipping Company. Originally from Malegaon in Baramati taluka, he currently resides in Pune. He is also said to have professional involvement in the education sector.
The attack took place at Gojubabi in Baramati taluka on Sunday evening while Suryawanshi was looking at a plot of land. He had stopped at the location while travelling towards Daund to inspect the property.
According to the available details, the attackers approached him on the pretext of offering a bouquet before carrying out the attack. Suryawanshi has Y-plus category security, but his security personnel were not accompanying him at the time of the incident. His private bodyguards were with him.
This was not the first attack on Suryawanshi. He had previously been attacked in Solapur district as well. Following Sunday's incident, he was admitted to a private hospital in Pune, where he is receiving treatment for an injury to his hand.
Devendra Fadnavis Comments on the Attack
Maharashtra Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis also commented on the attack on Suryawanshi. He said that security had been provided to the entrepreneur, but Suryawanshi had left his security cover behind for certain reasons.
Fadnavis stated that Suryawanshi was not accompanied by his security personnel when the attack occurred. He added that further details about the incident would emerge soon.
The shooting near Baramati Airport has brought attention to the attack on the entrepreneur, who had previously been targeted in Solapur district and has been provided Y-plus category security.
